Agility workshop

Me and Benny went to an agility workshop and had alot of fun! It was a day long workshop where they taught us how to teach the agility obstacles and to learn more about agility. Benny had alot of fun and did really good considering it was his first time with real agility equipment. i have practiced with him on some things at my friends house with homemade stuff though. he did especially good on the tunnel! here's a couple pics and videos!

rock climbing adventures! LOL

Me and Benny went to some "customer appreciation day" that some insurance company was having. They had a rock climbing wall that i did, I did it 4 times and made it to the top twice. not bad! The first 2 times (which the videos are of) i was just getting used to it and was quite nervous. But then the last 2 times i started getting alot better and made it all the way up! unfortunatly, after the first 2 videos and some pics, my camera's battery died. of course, just my luck! lol oh well. They also had a Snoopy character there and Benny wanted his picture taken with him so i figured i might as well too! lol They also had free ice cream and a few giveaways, so it was a pretty fun day.

Summer festival

Here are some pics and videos from the summer festival that they had in town. the first day there was a parade and 2 k9 demos. I really enjoyed watching the demos. but Benny was better behaved than a police dog! I had to leave Benny in a down/stay off to the side while i went to take pictures because the cop said that his dog couldn't work with my dog around. hmm... i thought those dogs were trained to work with distractions?? but anyway i enjoyed it. the second one was a drug sniffing dog that works for border patrol to sniff out drugs in cars. it was really hot out so Benny wore his boots for the first time to protect his feet from the hot pavement. He was fine with them because luckily i had practiced having him wear them and walk in them at home before i actually needed them. I got TONS of comments from people about them. alot asked why he had boots on and of course i just said because of the hot pavement. but i really felt like asking them if they would walk barefoot on the hot sidewalk, they say no, and i would say my point exactly!
At night, they also had a street dance in town with a bunch of concession booths. i practiced with Benny in that very distracting enviroment and he was really good and heeled perfectly despite tons of people including kids (some on bikes and skateboards), food on the ground and VERY loud music!
the second day of the festival, they had some food booths and a border patrol helicopter, rescue boat and K9 demo down at the boat landing.

These pics were taken at the Empowerment program horse demo. They asked me to be there "special guest" so i rode my horse Nikita while having my service dog Benny perform some commands. There is also a video of our performance.
