Life with a Service Dog: Houlton Fair

Friday me and Benny went to the Houlton Fair. A friend of mine also came along. He watched Benny for me while i went on the rides. We watched the 4h dog show that they had. There's a video of that below. They had Conformation, Obedience, and Agility as part of the show. At the end of the show i went to talk to the judge who happens to be from the Central Aroostook Kennel Club, and she told me about an agility workshop coming up in august so i signed up for that. It's a day long workshop where they teach the basics of agility. I'm really looking forward to that! We also watched a performance by the Disk Dogs A-Z, it's frisbee dogs that do a frisbee routine to music. We stayed for 2 shows. That was really neat to see, it was alot of fun to watch. At the end of the show i went to ask if i could pet one of his dogs, and not only did he let me pet one but i was also able to throw a frisbee a few times for one. That was so much fun! Actually that was the best thing at the fair! The weather wasn't to nice but i really wanted to go to see the frisbee dogs so we made the best of it. It only rained for about a half hour once so it wasn't to bad although it was cloudy and quite chilly. Benny was a very good boy while there, i had to keep him on duty since pets are not allowed at the fair, and he was very good even around all the animals and dog shows. He was a little weary of the pigs though, he didn't want to get close but after giving him some treats he wasn't to bad. Here's some pics that were taken at the fair. Well, ok it's all of animals but afterall that was the best thing there!
